The “DISCOVER ARCHITECTURE” summer workshop introduces several aspects within the fields of Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Landscape Architecture, and Construction Science and Management to potential university students through academic projects that are designed to stimulate creativity... and be fun! Participants live in campus housing, and complete projects that include the application of sketching and designing in model, using computer presentation tools, and several hands-on building projects - to help students understand if a career in the building arts might be right for them. The program is offered by Oklahoma State University faculty, at the Stillwater campus, for students who are at least 16 years of age.
Discover Architecture will be held on the OSU Stillwater campus. Discover Architecture is a “residential workshop” – meaning students will live in dormitory facilities and participate in academic activities in OSU campus facilities over the course of the five day event.
The workshop will be offered June 12-17, 2017, in the Donald W. Reynolds School of Architecture Building, OSU Stillwater Campus. Participants will attend workshop activities from 9am-8pm each day.
Students who are at least 16 years old are eligible to attend.
There is a $400 fee for selected participants to attend the workshop. All project supplies and equipment, instruction by OSU faculty, meals, and double occupancy dorm accommodations during the workshop are included in this fee. The workshop is sponsored by OSU and several architecture firms from OKC and Tulsa, which allows the program to be offered at such a low cost to participants.
