Two School of Architecture faculty members have been recognized with important teaching awards for the 2006 year.

Professor Suzanne Bilbeisi received the prestigious OSU Regents Distinguished Teaching Award. This award recognizes significant and meritorious achievement in the instruction of students for a significant period of years. Awardees demonstrate an unusual effort devoted to ensuring the quality of the students’ learning experience and the possession of high scholarly standards for both the rigor and currency of course content.

Professor Jeanne Homer was recognized as the Halliburton Excellent Young Teacher. The purpose of this award is to recognize and encourage the importance of teaching within the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University.
When Professor Bilbeisi joined the faculty in 1993, she became only the second female architecture faculty member in School of Architecture history. Professor Homer is the third. These two women, along with the first female architecture faculty member, Cheryl Morgan (now a professor at Auburn) have set a high standard for those that follow!
