Ko Makabe (BARCH 1997) is an associate design principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) in New York City. He is currently the senior designer on the INCS-Chino Factory in Nagano, Japan and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Las Vegas. With KPF since 1997, Ko’s projects include the Shanghai World Financial Center in China, which is projected to be the tallest building in the world when it is completed in 2008, the Nihonbashi 1-Chome Building, the Merrill Lynch HQ and a commercial mixed-use building in Tokyo. Ko was recently featured in the December, 2005 issue of Architecture Record in an article entitled “Young Turks in Big Tents.” |
